As a new member of our team, we require someone willing to build themselves a name and take The Kitchen Lunch Bar to the next level. This position requires the successful applicant to work on their own, to be able to perform all duties in the kitchen. You must be able to serve customers on time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

●      Preparing a varied range of dishes from our menu, ensuring consistent quality and presentation

●      Assisting with menu development and creating new, seasonal specials

●      Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment

●      Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

●      Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff

●      Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service

●      Conducting inventory management and ordering of supplies

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: Must have the AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2). Formal culinary qualification or training (desirable) such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Experience: Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a similar hospitality environment (better for over a year of experience)

Skills:

●      Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen management including food safety and hygiene best practices

●      Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills

●      A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not mandatory—understanding traditional Vietnamese ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques. Experience in preparing key dishes like phở, bún bò Huế, bánh mì, etc., is a plus.

●      Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house members.. Vietnamese language skills could be a plus, especially for working with suppliers or Vietnamese-speaking staff

Other requirements: Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
